Replacing the inner handle of the rear door lock actuator (Mondeo 4)

You will need a TORX T20 key.

1. Remove the rear door trim (see Removing and installing rear door trim).

2. Remove the fastening screw from the piston of the inner handle housing.

3. Using a screwdriver, pry the inner handle housing and remove the mounting pin from the inner door panel.

5. Using a screwdriver, pry up the cable holder of the inner lock handle…

6….remove it from the hole in the inner door panel.

7. Pressing from below on the end of the lock drive cable sheath, remove the end from the handle body.

8. Press the handle to disconnect the cable end from the lever of the inner handle of the lock drive…

9….and remove the handle.

10. Install the rear door inner lock actuator handle in the reverse order of removal.
