Replacing the front door window regulator (Mondeo 4)

The front door window lifters are equipped with an electric drive. This subsection describes only the removal and installation of the electric window lifter itself. The process of removing and installing the electric window lifter motor is described in Section 10 "Electrical Equipment" (see Replacing the electric window lifter motors).

You will need a TORX T25 key.

1. Remove the front door trim (see Removing and installing front door trim).

2. Remove the front door glass (see Front Door Glass Replacement).

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the glass from the door; it is enough to disconnect it from the window lifter and fix it in the extreme upper position, for example, using a screwdriver, pieces of PVC pipe of a suitable diameter, or masking tape.

4….disconnect the wiring harness connector from the window lifter motor.

5. Remove the gearmotor mounting screw.

6. Remove the upper screw securing the rear window lift slider guide.

7. Remove the remaining three screws securing the guide sliders.

8. Remove the window regulator through the access hole in the door panel.

9. Install the front door window regulator in the reverse order of removal.
