The brakes are checked on the road only if this is not obstructed or endangers other road users. For such a check, find a flat, remote if possible, section of road with good coverage. In cars with ABS, it should be turned off first.

ORDER OF EXECUTION |
- First, move slowly, press the clutch and then brake with full force. Now compare the brake marks on the road - marks of the same length indicate evenly acting brakes. Then do a similar "exercise" with the parking brake.
- In the second stage, accelerate your car to 50 km/h – do not squeeze the steering wheel convulsively and do not adjust the direction of movement during braking. Then brake gently at first, and then sharply until a complete stop. The car should confidently remain on a straight line. Otherwise, the brakes "pull" to one side. In any case, find a workshop that has a test stand to check the brake system.
- To check the operation of the brake system units in the third stage in idle mode, you need to simply roll your Mondeo down from a "resting state" on a slightly sloping section of the road. If it rolls "weakly", all wheels are free and the gap between the brake segments and the brake drive discs is OK.
- After a short test drive, check the temperature of the discs: to do this, put your hand on their stars - all wheels should be equally warm.
