PROCEDURE

After disconnecting the battery, in principle it is necessary to carry out adjustment of each power window. Press the power window switch, the window should move completely up. After the glass is closed, hold down the switch for at least one more second. Only then release the switch and again then press it 2-3 times, each time for one second. If the engine accepted your commands, then from now on the window automatically opens and closes after pressing the button. If it doesn't, repeat the process as described above. Now roll the window all the way down and hold the switch down for one more second. Repeat this process for all side windows.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

Power window strike Switch Defect: Remove the opposite switch and rearrange the multi-pin connector. By means of a working switch, it is now possible to close the window. Break in the wiring to the electric motor: Lay down «outer wire» with a plus (if no voltage is applied) or with mass (if mass is not applied) to the engine. Then start the engine. Engine lock: Remove the door lining, disconnect the glass from the power window and manually move the glass up. Secure it in this position with adhesive tape or by inserting a suitable wooden wedge. All the tricks given here are, of course, only forced measures for quick help on the road. At home, you need to do such things thoroughly.

Central locking system

The central locking system opens and closes all the doors of your Mondeo simultaneously. Each door lock has small setting motors. Signals from them begin «your journey» respectively from both front doors - from the outside this happens after inserting the key and from the inside after activating the glass control knob. The trunk can be opened with a push button from the inside or with the ignition key. The engine hood can, in principle, only be unlocked from the outside with the ignition key. Mondeo doors with remote unlocking respond to the push of a button. The transmitter is located directly in the ignition key, and the receiver is located in the interior lighting housing.
