Elimination of air in the clutch hydraulic system

            0

1. Clutch hydraulic system does not normally require bleeding. This procedure is necessary only after disassembling the system. However, if the clutch pedal has become too soft or insensitive to pressure, then it is possible that the system needs to be bled of air.

2. The bleed nipple is located at the top of the transmission bell.

3. Remove the battery (chapter 5A) and air cleaner (chapter 4A). Slide the piping and wiring out of the way to access the process cover.

4. Remove the cap from the bleed nipple (see Fig. 8.5, a).

5. The procedure for removing air from the clutch hydraulic system is the same as for the brake hydraulic system (chapter 9). In this case, it is necessary to maintain the liquid level in the reserve tank above the mark "MIN".

6. Finally, tighten the nipple and add liquid to the tank to the mark "MAX". Check the operation of the clutch before installing the components removed for access.

7. Poor air removal indicates hydraulic system leaks or master cylinder wear. The master and slave cylinders are completely replaced. They are not repairable.
