Examination
1. This system has a self-test mode which is activated when one of the locking microswitches is operated eight times within ten seconds. A buzzer signals that the self-test mode is activated and that there are no faults in the system. If a fault is detected, contact your dealer. The central locking module also contains an emergency alarm system module.
Removal
Central locking module/emergency alarm module
2. To remove this module, first remove the lower right panel from the front panel (right-hand drive models) or the glove box (left-hand drive models),
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the module from the bracket located under the front panel.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the module.
6. Please note that models not equipped with an anti-theft alarm system use a different module.

Electric motor for locking the trunk lid/tailgate
10. Remove the lock (see paragraph 19 or 22).
11. Unscrew the two screws securing the electric motor and pull it out of the body, disconnecting the wiring from it (see Fig. 23.11, a, b).
Installation
12. Install all components in the reverse order of removal.
