Removing and installing the glove box (Mondeo 1 and 2)

Removal

1. Open the glove box. Using a screwdriver, gently press on the side of the glove box near its hinge to release the box from the plastic retainer (see Fig. 32.1).



2. Remove the glove box. Where necessary, disconnect the electrical connector of the box lighting wiring.

3. If necessary, you can remove the drawer lock. To do this, unscrew the screws and remove the lock plate and spring (see Fig. 32.3).



4. To remove the lock cylinder, squeeze the elastic stoppers.

Installation

5. Install the cylinder into the lock plate so that the locking pins take their position.

6. Squeeze the latch fingers together and insert your right finger into the lock plate.



7. Install the spring and insert the left finger into the lock plate.

8. Install the lock plate and tighten the screws.

9. Connect the electrical connector of the wiring and install the glove box, seat it completely on the plastic clips.
