Removal
1. Remove the driver's airbag (paragraph 28).
2. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the speed control device electrical connectors (if equipped).
4. Remove the steering wheel and steering column covers (chapter 10).
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiring harness at the bottom of the steering column.
6. Disconnect the steering column multifunction switches by pressing the plastic tabs with a flat-blade screwdriver.
7. Using a small screwdriver, release the three retaining tabs and pull the spring loaded drum out of the steering column, pulling the wiring through.
Installation
8. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. The front wheels should be in the straight-ahead position. The spring-loaded drum should be installed in its middle position according to special marks. And on its upper part there should be a mark "TOP". Check whether the drum is installed correctly. To do this, turn the body of the spring-loaded drum counterclockwise to create tension, and then turn it in the opposite direction by 2 3/4 turns.
