CD Player (Mondeo 1 and 2)

1. This unit is installed on most models with a high level of equipment. Some models are equipped with a unit with an automatic disc changer, which can simultaneously hold several discs.

Removal

2. Before performing work, disconnect the negative battery cable.

CD player or automatic disk changer control unit

3. The procedure is performed in the same way as described in paragraph 23.

CD Changer - Pre-1996 Models

4. This unit is installed in the luggage compartment on the right side. The wiring harness runs along the rear pillar, passes through the left front pillar and then enters the center console.

5. Remove the trim cover from the block.

6. Remove the mounting screws and remove the unit from its support bracket.

7. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the unit.

CD changer - models produced since 1997

8. This device is mounted on a bracket under the front passenger seat.

9. Remove the seat (chapter 11).

10. Remove the bolts on each side of the unit and disconnect the wiring connector (see Fig. 25.10, a, b). Slide the unit off the bracket and pull it out.

Installation

11. Installation - in the reverse order of removal.
