Rules of tire operation

            0

Tires, as they say "thank you" for improper use - for example, frequent driving at high speed over curbs and rails - will eventually lead to tire failure on the road.

Tire cleaning

If possible, do not clean tires with a steam jet. If the steam jet nozzle is held in close proximity to the tire, the nearby rubber layer will be destroyed in a few seconds, even with cold water. For safety reasons, tires cleaned in this way must be replaced.

Tires that have been in contact with oil or grease for a long time should also be replaced. Tires in such places swell, however, later they return to their normal shape and look undamaged from the outside. The bearing capacity of such a tire is reduced.

Tire storage

Store tires in a dark, cool and dry place. Do not allow tires to come into contact with oil and grease.

Store tires stacked or mounted on rims in a garage or basement.

Before dismantling the wheel, slightly increase the pressure in the tire (0.3-0.5 bar).

For winter tires, it is advisable to use your own rims, since remounting to the same rims will eventually turn out to be more expensive.

Tire break-in

New tires have a very smooth outer surface. Therefore, new tires - this also applies to the spare wheel - need to be run in. With this break-in, the smooth outer surface becomes dull due to initial wear. Be especially careful when driving with new tires on wet roads.

Wheel balancing

Serial wheels are balanced at the factory. Wheel balancing is necessary to balance the uneven distribution of masses. When driving, unbalanced wheels cause the vehicle to vibrate and yaw on the road. The steering wheel begins to vibrate at a high frequency. As a rule, such phenomena occur in a certain range of speeds of movement, with an increase or decrease in speed, they disappear. Out-of-balance wheels can cause subsequent damage to the suspension joints, steering gear and shock absorbers. Have the wheels rebalanced every 20,000 km and after every tire repair, as wear and repair changes the weight distribution over the wheel volume.
