A damaged wheel bearing can be identified by the following signs: noise on a tight turn; tight wheel rotation with the brake off. The bearing is seated in the steering knuckle with a large interference fit, so it can only be installed using a suitable press tool. This work is carried out at the service station. To replace the wheel bearing, the steering knuckle must first be removed and the wheel hub pressed out.
