Checking the clutch (Mondeo 1)

Since Ford Mondeo models are not equipped with automatic clutch adjustment, the clutch clearance must be adjusted after each repair and at each technical inspection.



Press the clutch pedal all the way down and record the distance between the center of the clutch pedal and the right corner of the floor mat (first dimension).

Release the pedal, leave the ruler in its original place. Move the ruler to the center of the clutch pedal, count and write down the distance (second dimension).

The difference between the two values should be 140-150 mm. Otherwise, adjust the clutch rod.
