Clutch test

            0

Clutch slip can be detected when driving in top gear under load. The engine speed increases, but the speed does not increase by the same amount. The following test method can give a definite conclusion, but it is not recommended to use it often.

SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and start the engine. Engage third gear, slowly release the clutch and increase engine speed.

2. With the car reliably braked by the parking brake, the engine should stall already in the first quarter of the clutch pedal travel.

3. If the engine continues to run, the clutch must be replaced.
