Checking the clutch (Fiesta 4)

            0

Clutch slippage can be detected when driving in top gear under load. The engine speed increases, but the speed does not increase to the same extent. The following test method can provide a definite conclusion, but it is not recommended to use it frequently.

SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Apply the parking brake and start the engine. Engage third gear, slowly release the clutch and increase the engine speed.

2. With the vehicle securely braked with the parking brake, the engine should stall within the first quarter of the clutch pedal's travel.

3. If the engine continues to run, the clutch must be replaced.
