Checking the ignition wires

            0

If the ignition wires have too much resistance, this can cause problems with starting the engine and turning off the ignition.

Switch off the ignition.

Disconnect the ignition wires from the spark plugs (see fig. F-1218).

Attention! Pull on the tip, not the wire.

Squeeze both retaining tabs on each lug of the ignition wires and disconnect the wires from the ignition coil.

Check the resistance of all four ignition wires between the ignition coil terminal and the spark plug tip terminal. Set value: approx. 5 kΩ to max. 30 kOhm.

If the resistance is too high, clean the ends of the wires and repeat the test, if necessary, replace the corresponding wire.

Bend the ignition wires sharply near the tips of the candles and check them for cracks, if necessary, replace all the ignition wires.

Connect the ignition wires to the ignition coil, making sure that the locking tabs are engaged.

Attention! The sockets for high voltage wires on the ignition coil are marked with numbers from "1" before "4". Connect the wires according to the ignition sequence 1-3-4-2. Cylinder 1 is located on the V-belt side of the engine (looking in the direction of travel - on the right).
