Adjustment to fuel quality (Mondeo 1)

            0

Ford-Mondeo engines usually use Super gasoline (ROZ 95) without lead. If it is not possible to fill up with such fuel, then it is temporarily possible to fill up with normal fuel without lead (ROZ 91). The theoretical octane number (ROZ) indicates the anti-knock properties of the fuel. Before filling up with normal fuel without lead (ROZ 91), it is necessary to readjust the ignition to a different ignition characteristic by removing the compensation plug.

Loosen the plastic windshield washer reservoir mounting bolt and lift the reservoir up.

Loosen the plastic windshield washer reservoir mounting bolt and lift the reservoir up.

Remove jumper "2" from compensation plug "1". The compensation plug is located on the front wall, near the power steering receiver.

If you fill up with Super petrol again, then connect the jumper plug.

Warning! Using normal fuel may result in reduced power and increased fuel consumption.

Attention! You can fill up with fuel with a higher octane number, for example, Super Plus (ROZ 98) without any hesitation. And there is no need to readjust the ignition system).
