A practical lifting tool is a jack (Mondeo 3)

            0

Ford equips the Mondeo with a parallel jack as standard, which is installed in the designated places under the door sills. The correct "lifting points" at the front and rear are marked on the sills. For most small jobs, the lifting height of the on-board jack is quite sufficient; if there is a rigid base between the jack leg and the place where it is standing, the lifting height can even be increased somewhat. However, it is advisable to put a small board underneath. Then the jack stands more steadily, its leg does not press on the ground. However, be careful, the car jack - and this is already indicated by its name - is intended only for lifting the car: it will in no way replace a stable and vibration-resistant "work stage".

Installation only under the door sill: Mondeo side jack.

For your own safety - hard dummy goats

Therefore, never prop up your Mondeo with just one jack, even in a hurry, when working under the bottom: in the worst case, you could pay with your life for your courage. Therefore, play it safe and use jack stands, which are offered in various sizes and designs. Two jack stands are enough for most jobs. Decide to buy tripod jack stands with folding legs; unused jack stands take up little space in the workshop. Pay attention to the presence of the GS technical inspection mark and the lifting load corresponding to your Mondeo.

Setting in the correct position: after the support trestles 2 have been set in the desired location, pull the distance tube 1 out of the stand as far as possible and fix it with the safety bolt 3 in the nearest hole. If the car needs to be lowered, make sure that the trestles are in a "loosened state" and not skewed.

No IF or BUT - Put your car on jack stands to prevent it from wobbling

ORDER OF EXECUTION
Position the vehicle on a solid surface and remove all heavy objects from the passenger compartment and trunk before starting work. Set the handbrake before starting work and place a chock with ground contact under at least one non-braking wheel; in extreme cases, you can use a large stone. The handbrake alone cannot provide sufficient safety and for some jobs it should even be released. The jack with the wheel bolt wrench is located above the left wheel arch in the trunk. Before installing the jack under the door sill as far as possible, raise the jack so that its stop almost reaches the height of the sill. In general, you need to ensure that the jack is vertical in relation to the body. Caution: Only install the jack in receiving places. A mobile garage jack should only be installed with a wooden beam under the door sill or another suitable receiving point (e.g. a crossbar) that distributes the load. Set the jack to the required working height and support the body in a suitable place on the bottom with a jack stand. Also, use sawhorses only with load-distributing pads (e.g. ebonite, wooden beam). Before installing sawhorses, carefully check the supporting areas: are there metal bends, cable bundles, fuel lines or brake pipes here? Tripod sawhorses will stand securely enough if one of the legs is located on the outside, and the other two are directed towards the middle of the car. Be sure to pay attention to the placement of the legs, especially if several sawhorses are used. Otherwise, it may happen that the sawhorse already installed may tip over when lifted by others.

This way your Mondeo will stand still and not wobble: the corresponding mounting points are marked in the figure as points 1 and 2. You can safely install jack stands, a mobile garage jack or a car lift with a platform in them without worrying about anything. If, of course, other areas of the car are to be used for special work, it is advisable to "increase" the adjacent surfaces of the jack as much as possible using hardwood blocks.
