General information about the brake system (Mondeo 2)

The Ford Mondeo braking system includes a parking brake system (handbrake) and a diagonally divided service brake system with dual-circuit hydraulic drive. These systems operate independently of each other. If one system fails, the other system will be able to stop the car.

In this case, a separate brake circuit connects one front wheel and the diagonally located rear wheel. If one of the circuits fails, the other circuit ensures the braking process. In this case, the force on the brake pedal and the braking distance increase.
