Jacking up the car

            0

When jacking up the vehicle for repairs or maintenance, install it as follows.

Raise the front if necessary. Place the jack under the pallet with a piece of wood between the jack and the jack head. Or install the beam at points B, located in front (see fig. 5.1, 5.2), and raise the vehicle evenly.

Pic. 5.1. Points for lifting the car with a jack and placing it on supports.
A - Vehicle jacking points (to install a car jack for repairs on the road) - points of support (for stands for maintenance/repair)
IN - Vehicle jacking points (to install a mobile jack or car lift for maintenance/repair) - additional support points

In order to raise the back, install the beam at the points "IN", located behind (see fig.5.3), and raise the vehicle evenly.

To raise the vehicle from the side, position the head of the jack at the appropriate point (see fig.5.1). When installing a mobile jack (or similar means) to points "A", designed for the jack supplied with your car's tool kit, make a wooden spacer with a notch in it in the form of a groove. It must be applied to the flanging on the body to prevent the jack from slipping or bending the flanging. Never work under or near a raised vehicle unless the vehicle is supported by secure stands in at least two places.
