Examination
Warm up the engine by driving about 20 km so that the gearbox oil temperature is at least 65°C.
The gearbox oil level indicator is located near the brake master cylinder. This is also where you add transmission oil for the automatic transmission if necessary.
Place the vehicle without load on a horizontal surface. Apply the parking brake. The engine should idle during the test.
With the engine idling, shift through all automatic transmission positions three times.
Set the selector lever to position "P". Then, run the engine at idle speed for one minute.
With the engine idling, remove the oil level indicator and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth, preferably leather. Then completely submerge the indicator, remove it again and read the level.
The oil level on the indicator should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
Use a clean funnel or fine sieve to add oil if necessary. Automatic transmission oil is added through the level indicator tube in the box.
Attention! Do not pour too much oil, as this may cause malfunctions in the automatic system. In any case, excess oil must be drained or sucked out with a syringe.
After checking or adjusting the oil level, fully enter the pointer again.
