Dashboard installed on car (pic. 11.2) collapsible design, consisting of the actual decorative panel and frame.
The decorative panel is a molded plastic piece attached with screws to the frame. With the help of removable elements, control devices, car and heating system controls are attached to the decorative panel (conditioning) and ventilation; pads covering the nodes located under the instrument panel, or serving to install instruments, controls; nozzles of the heating and air conditioning system, glove box.
The frame is a composite structure of parts cast from aluminum alloy and steel pipes of rectangular and round cross section. It is attached with bolts, screws and nuts to the A-pillars and the base of the body, and is included in the load-bearing structure of the body. Air ducts of the heating system are attached to the frame of the instrument panel (conditioning) and ventilation, steering column and climate unit, as well as wiring harnesses.
WARNING: In zone a (see fig. 11.2) front passenger airbag can be installed on the instrument panel. Unskilled removal of the instrument panel or repair of its individual components can cause unexpected airbag deployment, which, in turn, is fraught with injury.
