The fuel tank does not need to be removed for this job. After the rear of the vehicle is on the lift, unscrew the trailing arm from the hub and crossmember. Note that the crossmember mounting bolt has an eccentric head and an eccentric nut is used on the outside. Mark the position of the bolt head and nut before disassembling the joint. Fig. 212 shows the location of the parts. Install in the reverse order, taking into account the marked position of the bolt head and nut. Tightening torques are different for both sides.
The nuts and bolts shown in Fig. 212 are tightened to a torque of 85 N·m, the bolts at the opposite end are tightened to a torque of 120 N·m. Install and tighten the rubber support joint when the car is on the platform; the car must be placed on the overpass. After installation, be sure to measure the rear of the car.
