Removal and installation of the forward trailing arm of a suspension bracket

            0

You must first remove the fuel tank in order to then remove the front trailing arm. Since it is difficult to drain gasoline from the tank, a pump will be required to pump it out.

Warning: It is strictly forbidden to suck gasoline by mouth with a hose.

Removal of the forward trailing arm of a suspension bracket carry out in a following order:

- Disconnect the battery in compliance with the relevant regulations and empty the fuel tank;

- fold back the rear seat cushions, remove the rubber cover and disconnect the plug connector;

- raise the rear of the car and put it on supports, place a jack with a wooden plank under the fuel tank and lift it up so that it supports the tank;

- unscrew the bolts of the mounting clamps of the stabilizer on both sides and remove the bar from below;

- Disconnect the hose from the fuel line;

- Disconnect the drain hose from the fuel filter;

- unscrew the bolts on both fixing belts of the tank and lower the tank a little on the jack, disconnect the fuel lines on the upper side of the tank, then lower the tank completely;

- unscrew the nut on the rear side of the trailing arm and remove the stabilizer link, holding the rubber bushings;

- unscrew the trailing arm from the hub and disconnect it from the mounting on the frame cross member - now the lever can be removed.

Install in reverse order. Rubber connections are installed if the car is re-installed on wheels. See appendix for required tightening torques. After installation, measure the rear of the car.
