Removal
1. Remove the central console (Chapter 11).
2. Apply the parking brake, raise the front end and place it on supports.
3. Working underneath the vehicle, remove the heat shield to access the bottom of the selector lever assembly. Disconnect the cable from the bottom of the selector lever assembly.
4. Loosen the nuts securing the selector cable plate to the bottom of the lever assembly.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Then pull the selector lever assembly into the vehicle. Remove the gasket.
6. If necessary, the selector lever and its position indicator can be removed from the top of the unit by unscrewing the bolts.
Installation
7. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. Adjust the selector cable (see paragraph 3).
