Cooling liquid (Mondeo 3)

            0

The cooling liquid (coolant) in the Mondeo consists of a mixture of water without limescale, antifreeze and anticorrosive agents. At Ford plants, the cooling liquid is bottled, which includes about 50% coolant (ESMD-97B49-A) and 50% water. This is quite enough for reliable protection at -30°C. Only at about -38°C does the liquid begin to solidify (freezing point) - a value that is only theoretical for our latitudes. Most liquids lose their properties after four years of "work" and therefore must be replaced. For topping up, a standard antifreeze is used, which, according to the manufacturer, can be mixed with water. Be careful with cheap products: they do not have sufficient corrosion protection and can also corrode light metal alloys. It is advisable to generally use only those products that meet the Ford specification.
