Steering Clutch Replacement

Remove the steering gear clutch as follows:

- Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery;

- Establish a steering wheel in the position corresponding to rectilinear movement;

- Disconnect the bolt of the mounting plate of the clutch and the steering shaft from the inside of the car and move the plate to the side;

- Remove the seal from the base of the load-bearing body, as described when removing the steering;

- unscrew the bolt and nut from the deflector and remove the shaft from the gear.

Install the new clutch in reverse order. The steering wheel must remain in a position corresponding to the straight-line movement of the wheels. Tighten the clutch clamping bolt to 19 Nm and press the seal into the grooves of the clutch and the base of the monocoque. Tighten the clamping plate bolt to 24 Nm.
