Remove the steering gear coupling as follows:
- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to straight-line movement;
- disconnect the bolt of the coupling and steering shaft mounting plate from the inside of the vehicle and move the plate to the side;
- remove the seal from the base of the monocoque body as described when removing the steering;
- unscrew the bolt and nut from the deflector and remove the shaft from the gear.
Install the new coupling in the reverse order. The steering wheel must remain in the position corresponding to the straight-ahead movement of the wheels. Tighten the coupling clamping bolt to a torque of 19 N·m and press the seal into the coupling grooves and the base of the monocoque body. Tighten the pressure plate bolt to a torque of 24 N·m.
