Towing rules

Turn on the ignition so that the steering wheel is not locked, the brake lights and horn work, and the windshield wipers can be operated.

Move the gearshift lever to the idle position, or to the "N" position for vehicles with automatic transmission.

Turn on the warning lights on the tractor and the towed vehicle.

Since the brake and steering boosters only function when the engine is running, apply more force to the brake pedal and steering wheel when the engine is stopped.

Recommendations for using a towing rod. When using a towing rope, there is a high risk of hitting the towing vehicle. The towing rope must be elastic to protect the towing and towed vehicle. Use a plastic rope or a rope with elastic intermediate links.

Warning! Four-wheel drive vehicles must not be towed with the front or rear axle raised. All wheels must be on the ground or the vehicle must be on a platform.
