Saloon, hatchback or estate (Turnier): Mondeo plays on the entire keyboard. In terms of width, with a value of 1931 millimetres, there are no differences between them. The picture is different in terms of length – the maximum is 4804 millimetres for Turnier, in the other two variants 4731 millimetres. In terms of height, each model variant goes its own way: depending on the chassis design, the saloon body has a height in the range of 1420–1460 millimetres, the hatchback body accordingly, 1429–1459 millimetres and Turnier – 1441–1471 millimetres. With the presence of a roof side rail, the height of Turnier increases by another 40 millimetres. However, there is complete agreement in terms of wheelbase: 2754 millimetres is a good indicator for a car of the upper middle class. In addition, Mondeo stands out for its large interior, which can accommodate five adult passengers.
Even in the rear seats, three average-sized Europeans do not feel afraid of space. Mondeo passengers can also go on a trip with more than just hand luggage: in the sedan and hatchback body, the maximum volume, according to VDA standards, is 500 liters - including the spare wheel. In the Turnier, together with the spare wheel, a loading volume of 540 liters is already available. With the rear seat folded down, the hatchback model will fit 1,370 liters up to the roof, and the Turnier will easily "swallow" even 1,700 liters.
