Checking the oil level in a manual transmission

To check the oil level in the gearbox, unscrew the plug (pic. 160) and with a bent finger try to get the oil. If there is not enough oil, add it with a syringe. Wrap the plug and tighten it with a torque of 27 Nm.

To change the gear oil, remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Close the plug and fill the gearbox with oil. The oil level should be 10–15 mm from the lower edge of the oil filler hole.
