FORD EDC Electronic Engine Control Power Supply

            0

The main power supply of the electronic control circuit is protected by a fuse (up to model 1994 fuse #27 - 15A. from model 1995 fuse #16 - 20A), located in the fuse and relay box in the engine compartment above the right wheel near the battery. Turning the ignition key (up to position II or III) turns on the power supply. Voltage is supplied to terminal 15 of the main power supply of the electronic control device, as well as to the contacts of the cold engine injection advance relay (relay pin 86 up to model 1994. relay pin 15 from model 1995). At the same time, power is supplied to pin 2 of the solenoid vacuum valve, as well as pin 7 of the electronic control unit.

In vehicles prior to 1994, turning the ignition key causes parallel power to be supplied through fuse No. 5 located in the fuse box in the engine compartment (20-A). to pin 87 of the cold engine injection advance relay In vehicles since 1995, this power is protected by fuse No. 13 (20 A).

The ECU terminal 14 ground connection closes the cold engine injection advance relay power circuit and energizes the cold engine injection advance corrector. The connection to ground occurs at the moment the starter is turned on and lasts until the engine reaches normal operating temperature.
