Adjustment



1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and release the parking brake lever completely.

2. Measure the stroke of the control plastic plungers. The plungers are located at the bottom of each brake shield (one of the plungers is shown by the arrow) opposite the exit of the parking brake cable. The movement of the control plastic plungers in total should be within 1.0–2.5 mm, otherwise it is necessary to adjust the parking brake.

4. By rotating the adjusting nut (indicated by the arrow), eliminate the slack in the cable, while the stroke of the control plastic plungers should be minimal. If necessary, move the parking brake cable on the cable equalizer to equalize the tension of the two branches of the cable. Then turn the adjusting nut another half turn.



5. Apply the parking brake to install the adjusting nut into the clutch.

6. If the movement of the control plastic plungers does not change after loosening the cable, this means that there is a mechanical fault in the parking brake drive system.

7. In vehicles manufactured since 1982, the stroke of the control plastic plungers is 0.5–1.0 mm and is adjusted by the adjusting nut after loosening the lock nut.
