Withdrawal



The condition of the brake pads can be checked using a mirror through a hole in the brake shield, after removing the plug from it.

1. Loosen the wheel bolts, raise the rear of the vehicle and remove the wheel.

2. Release the parking brake.

3. Remove the dust cap from the central hub mounting nut and remove the cotter pin.

4. Unscrew the nut, remove the nut retainer, thrust washer and remove the hub (brake drum), by pulling it towards you.

5. Remove the fastening of the front brake shoe, for which, with pliers, press the spring cup to the brake shoe and in this position, holding the stand behind the brake shield, turn the cup 90°, remove the cup, spring and holding stand.



6. Remove the front brake pad from the shield by pulling it up and tilting forward (1 - coupling spring, 2 - front brake shoe).

7. Remove the upper and lower return springs.



8. In the same way, remove the rear brake shoe together with the parking brake lever and expansion bar.




9. Remove the expansion bar from the rear brake shoe.

Installation



1. Hook the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.

2. Hook the expander bar spring and install the bar on the rear block.

3. Install the brake shoe, resting the upper end of the shoe against the piston of the working brake cylinder, and the lower end against the support, while the parking brake lever should be in contact with the surface of the plastic plunger, and not go beyond it.

4. Install the retaining post, spring and cup and turn it 90°to fix it.



5. Connect both shoes with the lower coupling spring and, having installed the front shoe at a right angle to the brake shield, install the spring connecting it to the expansion bar.


6. Install the lower part of the brake shoe into the support, and the upper part over the sector of the adjusting mechanism of the expander bar.

7. Install the retaining post, spring and cup and turn it 90°to fix it.

8. Install hub.

9. To set the working clearances of the rear brakes, press the brake pedal strongly and sharply several times.

10. Install the wheel and lower the car.
