Brake fluid level

It is necessary to periodically check the level of brake fluid in the tank located on the main brake cylinder. The brake fluid level must not exceed the mark "MAX" and below the mark "MIN" by 8 mm. Use only Ford SAM-6C-9103 A or Ford SAM-6C-9103 C brake fluid for topping up or when replacing.

With a significant decrease in the level of brake fluid in a short period of time, it is necessary to determine the location of the fluid leak.

Every 10,000 km, check the thickness of the brake pads. With a brake pad lining thickness of 3.5 mm, the residual life of the pads is 20,000 km of the car's run.

Change the brake fluid every three years.

Periodically check the operation of the parking brake. Raise the rear of the car and, turning the wheel, tighten the brake lever. When tightened by two teeth, a slight braking should be felt, and when tightened by five teeth, the wheels should be difficult to turn. Otherwise, make adjustments.

Check the condition of all seals and replace if necessary.

Check the condition of all pipelines:
  • metal pipelines should not have mechanical damage and corrosion centers;
  • brake hoses must not have cracks visible to the naked eye on the outer sheath and traces of chafing; they must not come into contact with mineral oils and greases that dissolve rubber; by strongly pressing the brake pedal, check if swelling appears on the hoses, indicating their unsuitability;
  • all pipeline fastening brackets must clearly hold the pipelines; loosening or destruction of the brackets leads to vibration of the pipelines, causing them to break.
