Lifting a car (Mondeo 2)

The jack used to lift the car must be suitable for the weight of the car. Make sure the car jack is suitable, especially if you are using it for the first time. Before lifting the car with a jack, check that there is nothing unnecessary in the trunk. This is often forgotten.

To avoid damaging the underside of the vehicle, the car jack, like the tripod supports, can only be installed in certain places. Fig. 12 shows the underside of the vehicle with locations for installing the jack or a stationary lift at a service station, as well as the tripod supports. Their use is described in the vehicle's operating manual. If the manufacturer's manual is missing, for example when buying a used vehicle, the jack installation locations are easy to find, as they are identical to the recesses in the underside of the body. Before lifting the vehicle, make sure that the head of the car jack is installed in a place where no parts of the vehicle can be crushed or bent.
