1. Check the ovality, taper and size of the main and connecting rod journals of the crankshaft.

2. When the connecting rod journals of the crankshaft are reduced by 0.25 mm, a green mark is applied to the counterweight.

3. On crankshafts with a standard minimum diameter of the main journals, a yellow mark is applied to the counterweight. In this case, a standard liner is installed in the cylinder block seat, and an liner with a yellow mark is installed in the cover.

4. Check flywheel condition. If defects are visually detected on the flywheel ring gear, it must be replaced.

5. Knock down the flywheel ring gear with a hammer, cool the flywheel, and heat the new ring gear to a temperature of 260–280°C and put the ring gear on the flywheel.

6. If there are scratches and scratches on the surface of the flywheel mating with the clutch disc, they must be removed by grinding the flywheel, provided that the overall balance of the crankshaft with the flywheel is maintained.

7. Visually inspect the oil pump parts for wear. If wear of the gear teeth is detected and there is a gap between the outer gear and the pump housing, the pump must be replaced.

8. The crankshaft seals and all gaskets must be replaced.
