Engine assembly

1. Install the oil separator of the crankcase ventilation system, checking the accuracy of the location of the spring levers.

2. Install and secure with grease the main bearing shells and thrust washers so that the grease grooves point towards the crankshaft.

3. Lubricate the crankshaft journals with engine oil and install it in the cylinder block.

4. Install the main bearing caps with liners in accordance with the markings and tighten the bolts.

5. Check the axial movement of the crankshaft using a dial gauge. If the movement exceeds the allowable limits, it is necessary to install thrust half rings of greater thickness.

6. Lubricate the cylinders with engine oil and install the pistons with rings and connecting rods.

7. Install the oil pressure sensor.

8. Install the oil pump by first removing the segment key from the crankshaft and wrapping the front end of the shaft with adhesive tape to preserve the working edges of the pump sealing ring. When installing a new pump, fill the pump with engine oil. Install the pump only with a new gasket. After installing the pump, remove the adhesive tape and replace the key.

9. Install the oil receiver.

10. On the front end of the crankshaft, install the thrust washer, curved side towards the pump, and the toothed pulley.

11. Install water pump with new gasket.

12. Install the tension roller with the spring, move it until the spring is fully compressed and tighten the bolts.

13. Install the crankshaft rear sealing ring support sleeve with a new gasket and the sealing ring, having previously lubricated its working edges.


14. Install the rear shield to the cylinder block.

15. Install the flywheel on the crankshaft and screw it on.

16. Install the clutch, having previously centered it.

17. Install the oil pan and oil drain plug.

18. Install the cylinder head using new mounting bolts.

19. Install intake and exhaust manifolds.

20. Install toothed belt and adjust its tension.

21. Install the cylinder head cover.

22. Install the crankcase ventilation hose.

23. make spark plugs.

24. Install the crankshaft pulley.

25. Install oil filter.

26. Install the alternator, fuel pump, thermostat housing, ignition distributor with cover and connect the high voltage wires.
