The KE-Jetronic fuel injection system is a mechanical fuel injection system which, unlike the K-Jetronic system, has additional electronic control, while the main mechanical system performs all the necessary functions in emergency mode when the electronic control fails.
This system uses more control data from additional sensors. The control unit regulates the fuel dispenser via an electro-hydraulic regulator.
The electrohydraulic pressure regulator is located in the fuel dispenser and regulates the fuel supply to the system depending on the engine operating mode. It enriches the fuel mixture during cold engine start, warm-up and acceleration, acts as an economizer at full load and ensures fuel economy during engine braking at speeds above 1500 rpm.
