Attention! Do not make adjustments on an overheated engine.
2. Turn off all electrical consumers.
3. On the XR3 engine, disconnect the radiator fan temperature sensor connector and short both contacts with a jumper to turn the fan on permanently.
4. On the Turbo RS engine, remove the connector from the electro-hydraulic governor.
5. Check ignition start setting.
6. Connect a tachometer to the engine (with the ignition off) and gas analyzer.
7. Increase the engine speed to 3000 rpm and hold it for 30 seconds, and then turn the engine to idle.
8. Take instrument readings. Check if they are correct (see table. CO content norm).
9. If the idle speed deviates from the norm, set the required value with the CO content adjustment screw.
CO content norm
Engine | Norm of CO content, % |
XR3/ Orion | 1,0 – 1,5 |
1600 RSi | 0,4 – 0,8 |
Turbo RS | 0,25 – 0,75 |
1.6 dm engine with catalytic converter | 0 |
