OHV Engine Oil Pump

The oil pump is located outside the engine cylinder block, on the front side.

1. Unscrew the 3 pump mounting bolts and remove it.
2. Remove the old gasket.
3. Before installing a new pump, it must first be filled with engine oil.
CVH Engine
Removal
1. Raise the front of the vehicle and drain the oil from the engine.
2. Remove the V-belt and timing belt.

3. Remove the toothed pulley from the crankshaft using the Ford 21-098 tool and the spacer washer.
4. Remove the crankshaft seal ring.
5. Remove the oil pan.

6. Unscrew the oil receiver mounting bracket (indicated by the arrow).
7. Unscrew the pump body and remove the pump together with the oil receiver.
Installation
Before installing a new pump, it must first be filled with engine oil.

1. Install the oil pump together with the oil receiver and a new sealing gasket (A) on the crankshaft journal and tighten the pump mounting bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
2. Screw on the oil receiver bracket.

3. Install a new sealing ring, having previously lubricated the working edges of the ring with engine oil. To install the sealing ring, use the Ford 21-093 device or a section of the appropriate pipe.
4. Install the expansion washer with the convex side facing outward and the toothed pulley onto the crankshaft and press it in place using the belt pulley and mounting bolt.
5. Install the timing belt and V-belt.
6. Install the oil pan, lower the vehicle and fill the engine with engine oil.
Diesel engine

On a diesel engine, removal and installation of the oil pump is carried out in the same way as on a CVH engine.
