Checking oil pressure

1. Warm up the engine to 80°C and check the oil level.
2. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor. On an OHV engine, the oil pressure sensor is located above the oil pump, on a CVH engine - to the right of the oil filter, and on a diesel engine - to the left of the fuel filter.
3. Screw in a pressure gauge with an adapter instead of the oil pressure sensor.
4. Start the engine and measure the oil pressure with the engine idling. The pressure value should be: 0.6 kg/cm² (OHV), 1.0 kg/cm² (CVH) and 1.3 kg/cm² (diesel engine).
5. Increase the speed to 2000 rpm and measure the oil pressure again. The pressure value should be: 1.5 kg/cm² (OHV), 2.8 kg/cm² (CVH) and 3.0 kg/cm² (diesel engine).
6. Stop the engine, unscrew the pressure gauge, screw in the oil pressure sensor and tighten it to a torque of 15 Nm.
