Withdrawal

Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the corresponding front wheel.

Open the hood. Using a lever, remove the protective head from the top of the stand. Loosen but do not remove the center strut mounting nut. To do this, using the second key, keep the shock absorber rod from turning (see fig. 10.11, 10.12).

Unscrew the brake hose from the support bracket on the front suspension strut.

If present, unscrew the bolt and disconnect the anti-roll bar from the front suspension.

Unscrew the clamping bolt securing the shock absorber to the steering knuckle.

Mark the position and unscrew the bolt securing the lower transverse arm to the steering knuckle. Using a lever or large screwdriver, pry apart the groove securing the transverse arm ball joint to the steering knuckle and remove the ball joint from the steering knuckle (see fig. 10.13).

Using the lever, open the groove of the suspension strut to the steering knuckle and, using a hammer, remove the steering knuckle from the shock absorber.

While supporting the weight of the suspension strut, unscrew the 2 nuts securing the strut to the body. Lower the stand and remove from under the vehicle.

Installation

Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. When installing the transverse arm lower ball joint bolt, install the bolt in its original place and, when tightening the nut, hold the bolt from turning.
