Withdrawal
Remove the steering knuckle from the vehicle.
Using a press, press the hub out of the inner races of the bearing.
Remove the inner ring of one bearing remaining on the hub using a puller.
Using a punch, knock out the outer race of the bearing (without warping) from the swivel (see fig. 10.9).
Completely clean the bearing locations on the steering knuckle and hub.
Installation
Using a mandrel, insert the outer races of the hub bearings into the steering knuckle (see fig. 10.10).
Support the inner ring of the bearing using a tubular mandrel and press the hub into it. Install the second inner race of the bearing and rotate the hub in the bearings to check that the bearings are properly installed.
