Removal
Remove the ground cable from the battery.
Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
Unscrew the bolt and remove the cover from the back of the crankshaft pulley.
Remove the auxiliary drive belt.
If the timing belt is to be replaced, set the engine to the position of the piston of cylinder No.1 at TDC in the compression stroke.
Loosen the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt. To prevent the crankshaft from turning, remove the starter and, using a suitable lever, secure the ring gear through the starter hole (see Fig. 2B.7)
Completely unscrew the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt and remove the pulley from the front end of the crankshaft (see Fig. 2B.8).
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
