Withdrawal


Remove the ground wire from the battery.

Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.

Unscrew the bolt and remove the cover from the back of the crankshaft pulley.

Remove the auxiliary drive belt.

If the toothed belt is to be replaced, set the engine to the No. 1 cylinder piston position at TDC on the compression stroke.

Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt To prevent the crankshaft from turning, remove the starter and, using a suitable lever, fix the ring gear through the starter hole (see fig. 2B.7)



Completely unscrew the crankshaft pulley bolt, and remove the pulley from the front end of the crankshaft (see fig. 2B.8).



Installation


Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
