Timing Belt Tensioner Mechanism
Turn the engine crankshaft until the marks on the camshaft pulley and cylinder head, as well as on the crankshaft pulley and oil pump housing are aligned, and remove the upper timing belt cover.
Loosen the two timing belt tension roller mounting bolts and use a screwdriver to move the tension roller away from the belt, compressing the spring.
Unscrew the two tensioner mounting bolts and remove the timing belt tensioner.
Check the condition of the tensioning mechanism.
Check the alignment of the marks on the pulleys, which should not change.
Place the tensioner mechanism in place and secure it with two bolts.
Adjust the timing belt tension.
Install the upper timing belt cover.
Camshaft pulley
Turn the engine crankshaft until the marks on the camshaft pulley and cylinder head, as well as on the crankshaft pulley and oil pump housing are aligned, and remove the upper timing belt cover.
Loosen the two bolts securing the timing belt tension roller and use a screwdriver to move the tension roller away from the belt, compressing the spring. Remove the timing belt from the camshaft pulley. Remove the timing belt from the camshaft pulley, holding the pulley from turning with a rod or screwdriver. When installing the pulley in place, use a new bolt. Check the condition of the pulley Install the woodruff key and pulley on the camshaft and secure with a new bolt. The bolt threads must be lubricated with a special blocking compound (see Fig. 2B.17. 2B.18).

Check the alignment of the marks on the pulleys, which should not change, and install the belt on the camshaft pulley. Adjust the tension of the toothed belt.
Install the upper timing belt cover
Crankshaft pulley. Remove the timing belt.
Remove the crankshaft pulley. If the pulley is very tight, use a puller to remove the pulley. Remove the axle ring and woodruff key from the crankshaft.
Check the condition of the pulley. Install the axle ring with the curved side facing the sealing ring. Lubricate the sealing ring and crankshaft pulley with engine oil, then install the pulley on the crankshaft.
Using the auxiliary drive belt pulley and mounting bolt, install the timing belt pulley onto the crankshaft. Remove the auxiliary drive belt pulley. Install the timing belt.
