Depending on the position of the gear shift lever, the vehicle speed and the position of the accelerator pedal, mechanical or hydraulic transmission of torque to the vehicle's drive wheels is ensured. Due to the combined transmission of torque, slippage between gearbox elements is reduced and the efficiency is increased, which improves dynamic performance while reducing fuel consumption.
To significantly increase the speed of movement when overtaking or when driving uphill, there is a forced downshift mode (Kickdown), which is activated by fully pressing the accelerator pedal and holding it in this position. In this case, the gearbox either stays in a lower gear longer or switches to a lower gear forcibly.
