
2. Remove the plugs (arrow) from the inspection holes of the brake shield.

3. Using a portable lamp, shine light through the inspection holes onto the brake pads and, using a mirror, check their condition and thickness.
4. If the thickness of the brake shoe lining (without the metal base) is insignificant, the shoes are subject to replacement. If the condition and thickness of the shoes are difficult to determine through the inspection hole, remove the wheel and brake drum.
5. If the lining of even one brake pad is worn to the minimum thickness, all four brake pads must be replaced as a set.
