Remove the ground wire from the battery.

Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the right front wheel.

Remove the auxiliary drive belt.

Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt. To lock the crankshaft from turning on HCS engines, unscrew the bolt and remove the clutch housing plate. Secure the starter ring gear to the flywheel using a large screwdriver or similar tool inserted through the hole for the clutch housing plate. On Endura-E engines, remove the starter and secure the ring gear through the starter hole.

Completely unscrew the crankshaft pulley bolt, and remove the pulley from the front end of the crankshaft.

If required, replace the crankshaft front oil seal.

Installation


Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
