Oil pump repair

Inspect the oil pump components for wear, unscrew the mounting bolts, and remove the pump cover. Remove the O-ring from the pump housing (see fig. 2A.30).



Mark the position, remove and clean the rotors and the inside of the pump housing. Check pump parts for wear and damage.

Using feeler blades, check the clearance between the pump housing and the outer rotor, the clearance between the inner and outer rotor, and the clearance between the rotors (see fig. 2A.31 - 2A.33).







Check the drive for wear or damage.

In case of increased clearances or damage, the pump must be replaced as a separate unit.

Install the rotors in the pump (in their original position), lubricate the rotors and new O-ring with clean engine oil, and install the cover. Tighten the cover bolts to the required torque.
