Gearbox with synchronizers on all gears for forward movement.
The primary shaft is made as a single block of gears (except for the 5th gear), the secondary shaft is completely disassemblable.
By installing two special diaphragm spring washers, one of which rests against the outer ring of the differential bearing, no adjustment of the differential bearing preload is required.
The gearbox housing is filled with long-life grease and has no oil drain hole.
Check the oil level every 20,000 km of the car's mileage. The oil level should be at the level of the oil filler hole, or no more than 10 mm lower.
| Oil used | SAE 80 FORD specification SQ-M2C-9008A (EP 80) |
| Crankcase capacity | 2.8 dm³ for 4-speed gearbox and 3.1 dm³ for 5-speed |
