The rotary pump is a component of the high-pressure fuel pump. It sucks fuel from the fuel line coming from the filter.
The rotor of the pump, in which the movable gates are installed, rotates in the bore of the housing. In this bore, the rotor has a slight offset from the center. The gates touch the walls of the bore of the pump housing, and the rotor rotates when the engine is running, and thus the gates are pressed by centrifugal force to the housing. This is how the sealing of the gates in the housing is carried out.
When the rotor rotates, there is a certain volume of fuel between the gates, which decreases in the direction of the pump discharge side, towards its outlet, and the fuel contained in this volume is squeezed out of the pump.
