Checking the idle speed and fast idle speed


With the engine warmed up to normal operating temperature, check that the thermal probe cable on the fuel pump side has a gap of 2 mm.

Start the engine, measure and record the idle speed.

Install a 4 mm thick plate between the acceleration lever on the fuel pump and the minimum portion adjustment bolt (arrow in Fig. 2E.44). The arrow shows the location where the 4 mm thick plate should be installed.

Start the engine, measure and record the fast idle speed.

If the idle and fast idle speeds are correct, check the time it takes for the speed to decrease from maximum (no load) to idle (the maximum time should be 5 seconds).



The number of revolutions should not decrease too much and should not reach the point of engine stop.

If the speed is not within the norm, it should be adjusted.
